On a recent appearance on New York Hot 97′s “Ebro in the Morning,” 50 Cent told radio host Ebro, the Trump campaign offered him $500,000 to campaign for their candidate to win over the Black vote.
The rapper told Ebro, “Before he got elected, they were having issues with the African-American vote. They wanted to pay me $500,000 as part of the campaign just to make an appearance. And I was like, ‘Nah, that’s not good money.’”
On the show to promote his Starz series “Power,” 50 said he doesn’t regret turning down the presidential candidate’s financial offer. While talking with co-hosts Laura Stylez and Peter Rosenberg, he said, “I’m not gonna do that. That’s not worth it.”
While a few Black celebrities such as Steve Harvey, Ray Lewis, and Jim Brown made appearances with Trump after his election, it appears that 50 Cent has integrity and couldn’t be bought. According to Reuters, Trump’s campaign received the lowest support from Black and Hispanic voters for any presidential candidate in the last 40 years.
