Cop Suspended After Video Surfaces of Him Pistol-Whipping Driver

A Bridgeport, Conn., police officer has been suspended after video surfaced of him smacking a young suspect in the back of the head with his pistol.

The officer, identified as Gianni Capozziello, is shown on the video approaching a red SUV that police said had been reported stolen. The cop then smashes the suspect in the head with his gun, knocking him to the ground, according to a report by WTIC-TV.

Capozziello wrote in a report of the incident, which took place Friday, that he yelled repeatedly at the suspect to “stick his hands out the window” after pulling the vehicle over.

When the unidentified driver got out of the SUV, the cop “utilized the magazine well area of (his) pistol as an emergency impact weapon,” the station said.

Bridgeport Police Chief Armando Perez said he put Capozziello on administrative leave “as soon as I became aware of the video”  Saturday.

“Following the officer’s dismissal from duty, I instructed Internal Affairs to retain the dashcam and bodycam videos of the arrest scene and to begin an investigation,” the chief said. “Everything that can immediately be done to address this incident has been done.”

That’s right, defend the criminal in a stolen vehicle with narcotics. Forget that everytime a police officer stops a vehicle they’re putting their lives in danger. How many cops have been killed doing a simple traffic stop let alone stopping a stolen vehicle? How about thanking the cop for not shooting the kid when he reached down to his pants with both hands? People have been shot for much less, that kid is lucky to be alive thanks to the police officer not shooting him right there and instead used non lethal force. Could it have been handled differently? Of course, the kid could have followed instructions, he could have not had drugs on him. Oh, and maybe he shouldn’t have been driving a stolen car to put himself in the situation. Stop protecting the criminals and have some compassion for the police officers that put their lives on the line on a daily basis for people they don’t even know.

Wow! Where in the report did they mention anything about narcotics? The report said that the car was reported to be stolen. There is nothing stated that it was proved that it was actually stolen. Stick to the facts and stop trying to justify the cops errant behaviour. When the guy stepped out of the vehicle he pulled his pants and put his hand up. The cop was never in danger. Always trying to blame the black man even though the video evidence shows exactly what happened. If you are not part of the solution then YOU are the problem!

Did you watch the video at the top that accompanies the written story? The video that says the car was reported as stolen AND the video also says he had heroin. Last time I checked heroin was still considered a narcotic. Try to find the “facts” that are right there for you to find if you were not so jaded against the police. And proof the vehicle was stolen? How about the owner of the vehicle reporting it stolen? Do you think the owner forgot they loaned it out? Or should the owner have “proved” that it was stolen and WHO stole it first before telling the cops who to go get? Ridiculous, pull your head out, come up for some air, open your eyes and relook at some things, i bet you’ve missed some “facts” staring right at your face. Btw, is your life at risk every time you put on your uniform for work? Do people call you names at work but expect you to come running every time you’re called? I think not otherwise you would understand and realize how fast things can and do happen. It’s easy to go back and watch a video and criticize but in real life and real time there is only a split second to make a decision. I thank the cop for not “shooting first and asking questions later”.

You are proof positive that sense aint common. The officers over reaction if why good police get a bad name. Serial killers and mass murderers don’t get this type of treatment. It is obvious h doesn’t belong on the force. He was not alone. He did that because he felt he could.

The question is did you watch the video? Put your hand up, he turned with hand in the air when the officer walks up and hit him in the head. A stolen car nor drugs warrant abuse, not justify the young man wrong. And won’t justify the protect and service abusive behavior. He should have handcuffed him and took him to jail, end of the story. It’s your common-sense way of think that allows the killing and abuse by this drug-using, rapist, lying cops. Like LaQuan Mcdonald’s killing, the cop that shot herself blamed a black man, the cops that rape woman that they arrested, the ones that rob a bank not counting the ones they kill their wives. You go stand with the blue wall of injustice.

Lets see …. SO NO ONE HAS EVER HEARD OF POLICE PLANTING EVIDENCE (THE HEROIN)???? ANNNNNND, this officer has a prior accusation against him, ANNNNNND some of you are actually believing that NO POLICE OFFICER IS EVER WRONG …. good luck with that ….JUST SAYING …..

Have you heard the stories of police officers losing their lives for pulling over stolen vehicles? Have you ever heard that people who do heroin steal from anybody and everybody?
And a police officer having an accusation? Has it been “proven” that he did something wrong yet? Has he been through court and found guilty? Because he is a police officer he is guilty until proven innocent?
Why don’t you have the same standards for the person driving the stolen vehicle? Somebody reported the car stolen and he was the one driving it but he must be innocent right? The cops must have planted him in the stolen vehicle too along with the heroin because “innocent people” in stolen vehicles would never do drugs…
JUST SAYING….
