Highschool Student Arrested for Threatening to Shoot Up School

A 15-year-old student of Seabreeze High School in Florida was arrested and charged with threatening to discharge a destructive device.

While playing on online video game, Adam Guzzetti said he was going to bring his father’s assault weapon to school and shoot seven people, Volusia deputies said.

According to investigators, an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations alerted authorities Thursday after the threat was posted on the game platform Discord.

Guzzetti posted the message under the name Dalton Barnhart, which was a fake name, investigators said.

Officials traced the internet address to a home near Ormond Beach, a report states.

On Friday around 1 a.m., investigators went to a Grove Avenue home in Holly Hill and contacted Guzzetti and his mother. The teen admitted he was on the Discord gaming platform and making the comments about shooting up his school but said he was joking, investigator said.

Guzzetti’s mother said there is an old gun in the home but her son didn’t have access to it, reports show.

Guzzetti told investigators he was posting on the game platform under the username FalconWarrio920 and that he made up the name Dalton Barnhart by using a mixture of people’s names he knows, investigators said.

On Friday, investigators notified school resource deputies at Seabreeze.

“I Dalton Barnhart vow to bring my fathers m15 to school and kill 7 people at a minimum,” Guzzetti posted, according to authorities. He was banned from the game platform after making the comment.

Guzzetti admitted in his mother’s presence that he made the post, investigators said.

Nice. I think that one’s pretty cut and dry. I hope we can get him the help he needs. I have to be honest, this is one of my favorite news sites, and I’m white.
