On Saturday, members of the neo-Nazi white supremacist group called Patriot Front marched through Washington’s National Mall.
The Patriot Front was established in 2017 by members of another white supremacist group called Vanguard America after a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, NC.
The group was escorted by police as they marched through the streets of Washington D.C. Officials say no violence erupted and no one was arrested.
Footage of the march shows the group yelling “Reclaim America!” and “Life, liberty, victory!” as they marched. Dressed in khaki trousers and caps, blue jackets and white face masks.
The group was accompanied by dozens of police officers, some on bicycles. A spokesperson for District of Columbia Metropolitan Police said it had no record of a permit for the march. Capitol Police and the National Park Service could not immediately be reached for comment.
The police spokesperson said that the “First Amendment demonstration was peaceful with no incidents or arrests”.
