Miami Police Union Plans To Boycott Upcoming Beyoncé Concert

Beyonce’s recent release of her viral video “Formation” and her controversial Super Bowl halftime show performance continues to spark dissent within law enforcement groups.

A police union in Miami, Fla. recently voted to boycott the singer’s upcoming concert in the city. The Miami Fraternal Order of Police stated that the recently released video titled “Formation” and the Super Bowl 50 halftime performance both promote a message of anti-police.

The president of the #20 Lodge of the Miami F.O.P., Javier Ortiz, issued a press release detailing the position the union is taking regarding the boycott. Mr. Ortiz stated that he “mistakenly” saw the “Formation” video, however he has not watched the Super Bowl performance.
