An Orange, NJ police officer has been suspended after an altercation with two students outside of Orange High School. The incident was caught on camera and shows the police officer grabbing the teens hair in an attempt to subdue them. The nature of the dispute is unclear.
According to a statement released by the Orange Police Department and Mayor Dwayne Warren the officer in the video, Hanifah Davis, “has been relieved of duty pending the outcome of an investigation.”
“Contrary to rumors on social media, an Orange Board of Education staff member was not arrested; he was issued a ticket and the issuance of that ticket is part of the investigation,” the city said in the statement.
